In order to build Anna’s language skills and her world knowledge, we read books of interest to her. We developed communication displays for each book so that she had a way to communicate about the book and we modeled how to use the displays. We talked with her about these books and waited to encourage her to make comments and ask questions. We wanted to show Anna that reading is fun!
